From OS X Scientific Computing

The best thing to do is obtain a pre-compiled binary distribution from David Gohara at Harvard. It is built with the intel compilers and is much faster than anything you would build with the free gnu compilers. Meanwhile, I am working out how to get it to compile with gfortran.
